Asian Style Massage - Thai Massage, Tuina, Acupressure with Neil Turner Fully qualified Massage Therapist with Provider No. Neil focuses his practice by assisting the body’s own natural healing process through various traditional Asian Massage systems from Thailand, Japan and China. Thai Massage is a form of Bodywork that incorporates Hatha Yoga, Acupressure and Reflexology. It uses point pressure, muscle stretching and compression, in a rhythmic movement of gentle rocking. The stroking, kneading and stretching techniques of Japanese Anma reduces tension, increases circulation and revives and rejuvenates the body while enabling the body to also deeply relax. Tuina (Chinese Massage) employs stroking, kneading, stretching and Acupressure techniques. Tuina may be used not only to treat disease but also to protect health and build up the body to prevent disease. Acupressure gives your body an overall tone-up and promotes general good health and vitality. Specific points are used to either calm or rejuvenate the mind and body. The full range of benefits of all the above are far too numerous to be mentioned here. Generally this style of massage is performed on a futon with the client fully clothed (necessary to wear comfortable loose clothing). Neil recommends 1.5hrs ($110) if possible for the Thai massage. He can offer an oil massage incorporating some elements of his Asian massage if preferred but his specialty lies in the more traditional Asian style. Neil is available Wednesday afternoons, Thursdays, Friday mornings & occasional Saturdays. |
